Our Story

As two musicians who grew up taking lessons and working at different music schools, we noticed a recurring story among parents and kids: an initial excitement to play music, discover an instrument, learn a song, and then, eventually becoming discouraged, disinterested, and disengaged from music making.

When treated as a subject to be learned, music loses its transformative power. However, when approached as a language, a tool to connect with others, it immediately becomes accessible to everyone!

We believe music is a universal language, and therefore, every human is musical. We founded Soul Flow House to provide a safe space for exploration and expression, and to instill a lifelong love of music. Supplying each student musician with the instruments (no pun intended) needed to play, sing, and create, we hope to establish a new way forward in music education.

Who We Are

Kelsey and Juan are the founders of Soul Flow House. Partners in life and in music, their passion is giving people (children and adults alike) the tools to access the music that dwells within in order to connect with others, raising the vibration of the world one song at a time.

Kelsey Rodriguez

Kelsey has loved music ever since she can remember. She began writing songs at the age of 14 and released a live album by the time she was 16. She studied music (classical piano and jazz voice) and psychology at Wellesley College and has performed in many NYC venues as a keys player and singer. A multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Kelsey has worked with children of all ages across the globe (Cuba, India, Kenya, and Brazil) and in Miami and NYC. She has taught music in classrooms, living rooms (and virtual rooms) for the past 10 years. Most recently, she was the Music Specialist for early childhood and elementary students at WeGrow, a progressive private school in Manhattan. In 2021 she completed the Voice Teacher Training at New York Vocal Coaching and is now a certified voice instructor. Kelsey loves writing alt pop tunes, usually on her piano or keyboard.
